Changing the Atmosphere

We hear a lot these days about how the earth's atmosphere is changing. We also hear about geoengineering, in which man is intentionally changing the atmosphere. While that can and does occur in the natural realm, it can also occur in the spiritual realm.

Here is another illustration on a smaller scale that we can all relate to. Have you ever walked into a room and discovered that it had an odor you didn't like, and you decided to open some windows to refresh the air? That's just a simple example of one way to change the atmosphere in the natural realm. Likewise, there are times when the spiritual atmosphere needs to be changed, and there is a biblical way to do so, which we will examine together in detail here in this article.

Link Between the Spiritual and Natural Realms
As I explained in my previous article, The Link Between Two Realms, there is a direct connection between the natural and spiritual realms. Things that we do in the natural realm transfer over into the spiritual realm, and things that are happening in the spiritual realm transfer over into the natural realm. For example, if there is an oppressive spirit in a particular place, then it will be reflected in the way people feel. Consequently, their words, actions, and attitudes in that place will be in accordance with that oppressive atmosphere, unless they resist it. Likewise, if the music in a place glorifies satan, like the way rock music does, then there will be a tangible darkness in that place and the actions of the people there will be in accordance with it.

Conversely, if there is a spirit of faith in a given place, then it will lend itself to a tangible openness and a heightened expectation for miracles and healing to happen. I recall that it was this way on the Bible school campus that I attended at Zion Bible Institute in Barrington, Rhode Island. And indeed miracles were rather commonplace there. On the other hand, I have been to other places where there was a spirit of darkness, doubt, and unbelief. In Jesus' own hometown, even He was unable to do many miracles there, except lay His hands on a few sick people and heal them, because they didn't believe in Him. (Mar 6:4-6). In fact, He wondered at their unbelief.

Now let's give some examples from Scripture of changing the atmosphere.

Jesus Changed the Atmosphere
At the synagogue ruler's house, Jesus changed the atmosphere. Let's observe how:

"While he was saying this, a synagogue leader came and knelt before him and said, 'My daughter has just died. But come and put your hand on her, and she will live.' Jesus got up and went with him, and so did his disciples." (Mat 9:18-19, NIV)

"When Jesus entered the synagogue leader’s house and saw the noisy crowd and people playing pipes, he said, 'Go away. The girl is not dead but asleep.' But they laughed at him. After the crowd had been put outside, he went in and took the girl by the hand, and she got up. News of this spread through all that region." (Mat 9:23-26, NIV)

Why did Jesus put the crowd out of the house? It was because they were noisily mourning the girl's death, playing sad and mournful music on the flutes, and the atmosphere was not one in which to raise her from the dead. It was not conducive--in terms of faith--to her being raised up, but a disorderly one that gave way to grief over the girl's death. It was an atmosphere of fear, doubt, and unbelief.

By putting them all out of the house, Jesus changed the atmosphere. That is also why he did not let anyone go in with Him except Peter, James, John, and the child's father and mother (Lk 8:51). Then He went in and took the girl by the hand, her spirit returned to her body, and she got up.

Perhaps you think that Jesus raised her from the dead, because He was God. Certainly He was God from His very birth and even before He was conceived in the womb (see Is Jesus God?). The apostle John says that in the beginning He was with God and He was God (Jn 1:1). But the apostle Paul also tells us that Jesus emptied Himself of the glory and power He had with the Father before He came to earth. He said, "Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness." (Phil 2:6-7, NIV).

This is known in Christian theology as His kenosis or self-emptying. In simple terms we can all understand, it was essentially His humiliation. He reduced Himself to the same level that all other men are at without ceasing to be God. It was like He tied both His hands behind His back in a sense, and had to do things the same way He expected His followers to do them, which is through prayer and the power of the Holy Spirit. That means that all of the miracles and healing He performed were done by the power of the Holy Spirit, as I wrote in my article, By the Spirit of God Alone. He Himself was baptized in water and with the Holy Spirit, and then declared that the Spirit of the Lord was upon Him, because He had anointed Him to preach the gospel, bring recovery of sight to the blind, and to set the oppressed captives free. (Lk 4:18). Therefore, He was our example in all things, and the way He went about doing things is the way we must go about them, too.

Peter Changed the Atmosphere
Following Christ's example, Peter also changed the atmosphere before raising Dorcas from the dead. All healing and miracles are done by faith, and he first removed all distractions that would interfere with faith, which meant the weeping mourners had to leave the room. Scripture states:

"Now in Joppa there was a disciple named Tabitha (which translated in Greek is called Dorcas); this woman was abounding with deeds of kindness and charity which she continually did. And it happened at that time that she fell sick and died; and when they had washed her body, they laid it in an upper room. Since Lydda was near Joppa, the disciples, having heard that Peter was there, sent two men to him, imploring him, 'Do not delay in coming to us.' So Peter arose and went with them."

"When he arrived, they brought him into the upper room; and all the widows stood beside him, weeping and showing all the tunics and garments that Dorcas used to make while she was with them. But Peter sent them all out and knelt down and prayed, and turning to the body, he said, 'Tabitha, arise.' And she opened her eyes, and when she saw Peter, she sat up. And he gave her his hand and raised her up; and calling the saints and widows, he presented her alive. It became known all over Joppa, and many believed in the Lord." (Act 9:36-42)

Elisha Changed the Atmosphere
Do you remember how Elisha changed the atmosphere? It was through music.

"Then the king of Israel said, 'Alas! For the LORD has called these three kings to give them into the hand of Moab.' But Jehoshaphat said, 'Is there not a prophet of the LORD here, that we may inquire of the LORD by him?' And one of the king of Israel's servants answered and said, 'Elisha the son of Shaphat is here, who used to pour water on the hands of Elijah.' Jehoshaphat said, 'The word of the LORD is with him.' So the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat and the king of Edom went down to him."

"Now Elisha said to the king of Israel, 'What do I have to do with you? Go to the prophets of your father and to the prophets of your mother.' And the king of Israel said to him, 'No, for the LORD has called these three kings together to give them into the hand of Moab.' Elisha said, 'As the LORD of hosts lives, before whom I stand, were it not that I regard the presence of Jehoshaphat the king of Judah, I would not look at you nor see you. But now bring me a minstrel.' And it came about, when the minstrel played, that the hand of the LORD came upon him." (2Ki 3:10-15)

He called for the minstrel to play his instrument, and when the minstrel did so, the hand of the Lord came upon him, so that he was able to prophesy. The music effected a change in the spiritual realm. Something changed in the atmosphere that made it conducive to prophesying.

David Changed the Atmosphere
Not only did Elisha use music to change the atmosphere, but David did, too.  He did this in the presence of King Saul, who had an evil spirit that made him experience outbursts of anger.

"Now the Spirit of the LORD departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from the LORD terrorized him. Saul's servants then said to him, 'Behold now, an evil spirit from God is terrorizing you. Let our lord now command your servants who are before you. Let them seek a man who is a skillful player on the harp; and it shall come about when the evil spirit from God is on you, that he shall play the harp with his hand, and you will be well.' So Saul said to his servants, 'Provide for me now a man who can play well and bring him to me.' Then one of the young men said, 'Behold, I have seen a son of Jesse the Bethlehemite who is a skillful musician, a mighty man of valor, a warrior, one prudent in speech, and a handsome man; and the LORD is with him.'" (1Sa 16:14-18)

"Then David came to Saul and attended him; and Saul loved him greatly, and he became his armor bearer. Saul sent to Jesse, saying, 'Let David now stand before me, for he has found favor in my sight.' So it came about whenever the evil spirit from God came to Saul, David would take the harp and play it with his hand; and Saul would be refreshed and be well, and the evil spirit would depart from him." (1Sa 16:21-23)

The Scripture says that whenever the evil spirit came to Saul, David would play his harp, and Saul would be well, and the evil spirit would depart from him. The music of his harp produced a change in the spiritual realm that changed the atmosphere such that the evil spirit would not want to remain there. Glory to God!

Praise Changes the Atmosphere
In the same way, praise changes the atmosphere. That can happen when someone is praising the Lord without musical accompaniment (i.e., a Capella), or it can happen when someone sings praises to the music of instruments. The reason is simple: God builds His throne upon the praises of His people. David wrote in the twenty second psalm, "Yet You are holy, O You who are enthroned upon the praises of Israel." (Psa 22:3). Therefore, when the praises go up, the glory comes down. He lives within the praises of His people. I encourage you to try it yourself. Praise His name and you will never be the same. The glory of the Lord will fill the place where you are.

When I was in the Army, I came to know Christ, and He set me free from my life of sin. Now I found myself living in a military barracks as a young, single man with other soldiers that were still bound by sin as I had been, yet they had no intention of changing. The rock music, pornographic videos and magazines, cigarettes and alcohol, course joking and foul language, were all around me. The atmosphere during off duty hours was similar to college dorm life in that respect, except with a little more discipline. One thing I did to cope with this dark and ungodly atmosphere was to wear a portable audio-cassette player clipped to my belt that I could carry about as I went about my tasks in the evening. That was before the days of CD players and MP3 players. I wore my light headphones and listened to Christian music that changed the atmosphere for me and made it one that glorified God, so that I was able to bear living in that environment.

My wife Jennifer tells me of what she did on one particular occasion when she was a teenage girl experiencing a sense of darkness about her. At that time she was probably fifteen or sixteen years old. She went into her bedroom and put an album on her record player and the first song that came on was called "Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus." The vocalist on the album began singing the opening lines that go like this:

O soul are you weary and troubled?
No light in the darkness you see?
There's light for a look at the Savior
And life more abundant and free

Turn you eyes upon Jesus
Look full in His wonderful face
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim
In the light of His glory and grace

So she knelt down beside her bed and turned her face upward, turning her eyes upon Jesus. As she did so, the atmosphere in her room changed and she experienced the light of His glory and grace upon her.

On another occasion when she was a young, single adult in graduate school at Regent University, she was in her apartment feeling rather depressed. So she turned on her radio in her bedroom and listened to a two-hour, praise-and-worship radio program. She occasionally prayed, but she mostly just sat and listened to the praise and worship music. At the end of that time, her friend Janice came and knocked at the door to her apartment to get her for work. They both worked for Regent University's Housekeeping Department cleaning apartments there in the village. When Jennifer opened the door, Janice took one look at her face and said something to the effect that, "Wow! What's happened to you? You're glowing!" What happened was that she changed the atmosphere through praise and worship.

Likewise, in our home today, our children change the atmosphere through praise and worship. Sometimes it is when one of them is going about her chores, sweetly singing praises to the Lord. At other times, it happens when they gather around together while one of them plays the guitar, and perhaps another plays the keyboard, while they all join in singing praises to God. It creates a wonderful atmosphere in the house, which I am able to sense even when I am downstairs in my office. Heaven comes down and fills the place.

Paul and Silas Changed the Atmosphere
When Paul and Silas were in prison in Philippi, they changed the atmosphere in that place through their prayer and praises. Prisons in those days were not like the prisons we have today, where there are beds, sinks, toilets, heating, and a cafeteria. They were cold, dark, probably dank, and infested with pests such as spiders, centipedes, perhaps lice, and various bugs, as well as mice, rats or bats. First they were beaten with many blows, and then after being thrown into prison, their feet were fastened in the stocks. Here is what happened in that place.

"But about midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns of praise to God, and the prisoners were listening to them; and suddenly there came a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison house were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened and everyone's chains were unfastened." (Act 16:25-26)

At midnight, they could have been complaining or sleeping, but they didn't yield to their flesh. Instead these two men chose as an act of their will to pray and sing praises to the Lord. Prayer and praise changed the atmosphere, such that it actually caused a sudden great earthquake that shook the foundations of the prison. What they did in the natural realm caused something to change in the spirit realm, which in turn affected a change in the natural realm in the form of an earthquake. Not only did the ground shake, but all the doors opened and everyone's chains were unfastened.

Scripture Reading Changes the Atmosphere
There are many other things that can change the atmosphere. One of them is reading Scripture aloud. When you begin to read the Word of God out loud or play back a recording of someone else reading the Bible, such as you can find on various audio Bibles available for free on the internet, you will notice that it changes the atmosphere. Light comes into that place. In fact, even if you read your Bible silently, it changes the atmosphere. When you open up the Bible, it is like a great flood light is shining up at you and as you read, that light will enter your soul. But reading it aloud is the best way to experience the most powerful effect of it.

Proclamations of Faith Change the Atmosphere
Another one is making proclamations out loud like the ones I have written about in my article, Personal Proclamations of Faith. If you begin to activate your faith and declare what you believe out loud, it will change the atmosphere. The demons fear your faith, and they will not want to be around if you keep boldly declaring those things aloud.

Thanksgiving Changes the Atmosphere
Finally, it will change the atmosphere when you begin to just give thanks to God for everything you can think of, such as I have written about in my article, Giving Thanks in Everything. Thanksgiving to God is a type of offering, and while it may be a sacrifice for you to do so, assuming you have your fair share of burdens and cares, it will bring a change in your environment. It will create an atmosphere in which the Holy Spirit feels welcome and God's presence envelopes you. Try it and you will see what I mean.

Putting it All Together
As I have just explained, there are positive ways that we can change the atmosphere we are in, according to the Word of God. They include removing the noisy voices of fear, doubt, and unbelief that are all around you, and entering into prayer, praises, and thanksgiving, as well as faith proclamations and Scripture reading, especially aloud. As you do these things, you will experience the shift in your environment. You'll be blessed because you did so. Something will change in the spirit realm and that will in turn be tangibly felt in that place.

Do You Want to Know Him?
If you want to know Jesus personally, you can. It all begins when you repent and believe in Jesus.  Do you know what God's Word, the Bible says?

“Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of God, and saying, ‘The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.’” (Mar 1:14b-15).  He preached that we must repent and believe.

Please see my explanation of this in my post called "Do You Want to Know Jesus?"

Link Between Two Realms

Today I'd like to talk with you about the link between the physical and spiritual realms. Did you realize that actions in the physical realm are transferred into the spiritual realm.  Conversely, actions in the spiritual realm are transferred into the physical realm.  Robert Brownell, author of Spirit Lessons, states: “Revelation from the book Baptize by Blazing Fire: Physical movements do transfer over to the spiritual realm, so you can fight the demonic with hand to hand combat. And you can ask the Lord for divine military weapons, (swords, fire, bow/arrow, axes, etc).”

Brownell goes on to state: “When we say that a teaching of Jesus is just a 'Symbolic Analogy' it opens up the door to a 1000 interpretations, and removes its true meaning. But a 'Spiritual Reality' is different than a 'Symbolic Analogy'. Some biblical teaching is symbolic, but not all.  For example, The Tree of Life is not symbolic, it's a real tree that one can see and touch in the heavenly realm, the Sword of the Spirit is not symbolic either, it is real. I'm re-reading the teachings of Jesus, knowing that maybe things I thought were just symbolic, may actually be 'Spiritual Realities'. Another example of this is from Proverbs 23:32 where it says that wine/alcohol bites like a snake. Most people would consider this a 'Symbolic Analogy', but according to Christians with the gift of Spiritual site this proverb is not symbolic but a 'Spiritual Reality'. There are spirits of snakes in alcoholic drinks. (see here) Another example of this is from Matt 21:21, where Jesus tells us we can cast mountains into the sea. Someone who considers this a symbolic teaching might pray like this, 'I cast my Mountain of Debt, into the Sea, I cast my Mountain of Pain into the Sea.' But now we're finding out by revelation that it's not symbolic, there are actually demonic mountains in the heavenly realm that need to be cast down. (see here).”

Brownell continues: “When the Church preaches against a sin, like Homosexuality, drunkenness or Abortion, then battles rage in the heavenly realms against these principalities.”

This may all seem new to you, but I want to show you from Scripture, as well as divine revelation that has been given, that this is not new at all.  It is the way things have always operated.

Physical Actions Transferred Into Spiritual Realm
First, let’s examine physical actions transferred into the spiritual realm.  Here are some examples:

  • Christ’s passion and crucifixion “And Jesus cried out again with a loud voice, and yielded up His spirit. And behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom; and the earth shook and the rocks were split. The tombs were opened, and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised; and coming out of the tombs after His resurrection they entered the holy city and appeared to many.” (Mat 27:50-53). “Surely our griefs He Himself bore, And our sorrows He carried; Yet we ourselves esteemed Him stricken, Smitten of God, and afflicted. But He was pierced through for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; The chastening for our well-being fell upon Him, And by His scourging we are healed.” (Isa 53:4-5) “Having canceled out the certificate of debt consisting of decrees against us, which was hostile to us; and He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. When He had disarmed the rulers and authorities, He made a public display of them, having triumphed over them through Him.” (Col 2:14-15). “For the word of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.” (1Co 1:18). “And might reconcile them both in one body to God through the cross, by it having put to death the enmity.” (Eph 2:16)
  • Blood of Jesus - and through Him to reconcile all things to Himself, having made peace through the blood of His cross; through Him, I say, whether things on earth or things in heaven. (Col 1:20)
  • Water baptism – “Or do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus have been baptized into His death? Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life. For if we have become united with Him in the likeness of His death, certainly we shall also be in the likeness of His resurrection.” (Rom 6:3-5)
  • The Lord’s Supper  -- “For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus in the night in which He was betrayed took bread; and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, ‘This is My body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of Me.’ In the same way He took the cup also after supper, saying, ‘This cup is the new covenant in My blood; do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.’ For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until He comes. Therefore whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner, shall be guilty of the body and the blood of the Lord. But a man must examine himself, and in so doing he is to eat of the bread and drink of the cup. For he who eats and drinks, eats and drinks judgment to himself if he does not judge the body rightly. For this reason many among you are weak and sick, and a number sleep.” (1Co 11:23-30)
  • Preaching the gospel – “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.” (Rom 1:16). “Now to Him who is able to establish you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery which has been kept secret for long ages past.” (Rom 16:25)
  • Laying on of hands - "While the sun was setting, all those who had any who were sick with various diseases brought them to Him; and laying His hands on each one of them, He was healing them." (Lk 4:40). "These signs will accompany those who have believed: in My name they will cast out demons, they will speak with new tongues; they will pick up serpents, and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover." (Mar 16:17-18). "Therefore leaving the elementary teaching about the Christ, let us press on to maturity, not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God, of instruction about washings and laying on of hands, and the resurrection of the dead and eternal judgment." (Heb 6:1-2). "For this reason I remind you to kindle afresh the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands." (2Ti 1:6)
  • Confessing Jesus as Lord - But what does it say? "THE WORD IS NEAR YOU, IN YOUR MOUTH AND IN YOUR HEART"--that is, the word of faith which we are preaching, that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation. (Rom 10:8-10)
  • Giving money (tithes and offerings) - "Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, so that there may be food in My house, and test Me now in this," says the LORD of hosts, "if I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you a blessing until it overflows. "Then I will rebuke the devourer for you, so that it will not destroy the fruits of the ground; nor will your vine in the field cast its grapes," says the LORD of hosts. (Mal 3:10-11). "Give, and it will be given to you. They will pour into your lap a good measure--pressed down, shaken together, and running over. For by your standard of measure it will be measured to you in return." (Luk 6:38)
  • Sharing anything you have like fish, loaves of bread, cakes, etc. - They *said to Him, "We have here only five loaves and two fish." And He said, "Bring them here to Me." Ordering the people to sit down on the grass, He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up toward heaven, He blessed the food, and breaking the loaves He gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the crowds, and they all ate and were satisfied. They picked up what was left over of the broken pieces, twelve full baskets. There were about five thousand men who ate, besides women and children. (Mat 14:17-21). Then Elijah said to her, "Do not fear; go, do as you have said, but make me a little bread cake from it first and bring it out to me, and afterward you may make one for yourself and for your son. "For thus says the LORD God of Israel, 'The bowl of flour shall not be exhausted, nor shall the jar of oil be empty, until the day that the LORD sends rain on the face of the earth.'" So she went and did according to the word of Elijah, and she and he and her household ate for many days. (1Ki 17:13-15)
  • Making prophetic models and spiritual maps - "Now you son of man, get yourself a brick, place it before you and inscribe a city on it, Jerusalem. Then lay siege against it, build a siege wall, raise up a ramp, pitch camps and place battering rams against it all around. Then get yourself an iron plate and set it up as an iron wall between you and the city, and set your face toward it so that it is under siege, and besiege it. This is a sign to the house of Israel. As for you, lie down on your left side and lay the iniquity of the house of Israel on it; you shall bear their iniquity for the number of days that you lie on it." (Eze 4:1-4). Also see Eze 5:2; Eze 21:19.
  • Striking the water with a mantle - Elijah took his mantle and folded it together and struck the waters, and they were divided here and there, so that the two of them crossed over on dry ground. (2Ki 2:8)
  • Throwing a stick in the water to make iron float - Then the man of God said, "Where did it fall?" And when he showed him the place, he cut off a stick and threw it in there, and made the iron float. (2Ki 6:6)
  • Blowing air through the mouth, the nose, a trumpet, or a ram’s horn – So Jesus said to them again, "Peace be with you; as the Father has sent Me, I also send you." And when He had said this, He breathed on them and said to them, "Receive the Holy Spirit. (Joh 20:21-22).  “So the people shouted, and priests blew the trumpets; and when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, the people shouted with a great shout and the wall fell down flat, so that the people went up into the city, every man straight ahead, and they took the city.” (Jos 6:20). Brownell states: “I've noticed a strange thing. I've noticed that when I am tempted with an evil/impure thought that if I breath out my nose quickly, the temptation seems to blow away. Like a person would if smelling something disgusting. I've also noticed that worship times, if I fully exhale out of my mouth, the Worship gets more intense. I've noticed these 100's of times, but I can't explain why.”
  • Mouth to mouth and eye-to-eye resuscitation - When Elisha came into the house, behold the lad was dead and laid on his bed. So he entered and shut the door behind them both and prayed to the LORD. And he went up and lay on the child, and put his mouth on his mouth and his eyes on his eyes and his hands on his hands, and he stretched himself on him; and the flesh of the child became warm. Then he returned and walked in the house once back and forth, and went up and stretched himself on him; and the lad sneezed seven times and the lad opened his eyes. (2Ki 4:32-35). And there was a young man named Eutychus sitting on the window sill, sinking into a deep sleep; and as Paul kept on talking, he was overcome by sleep and fell down from the third floor and was picked up dead. But Paul went down and fell upon him, and after embracing him, he said, "Do not be troubled, for his life is in him." (Act 20:9-10)
  • Wielding the sword of the Spirit - From His mouth comes a sharp sword, so that with it He may strike down the nations, and He will rule them with a rod of iron; and He treads the wine press of the fierce wrath of God, the Almighty. (Rev 19:15) Also Rev 19:21. And take THE HELMET OF SALVATION, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. (Eph 6:17)
  • Putting clay on blind eyes to form new ones - When He had said this, He spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and applied the clay to his eyes, and said to him, "Go, wash in the pool of Siloam" (which is translated, Sent). So he went away and washed, and came back seeing. (Joh 9:6-7)
  • Throwing fire, commanding fire to come down from heaven - Then the king sent to him a captain of fifty with his fifty. And he went up to him, and behold, he was sitting on the top of the hill. And he said to him, "O man of God, the king says, 'Come down.'" Elijah replied to the captain of fifty, "If I am a man of God, let fire come down from heaven and consume you and your fifty." Then fire came down from heaven and consumed him and his fifty. So he again sent to him another captain of fifty with his fifty. And he said to him, "O man of God, thus says the king, 'Come down quickly.'" Elijah replied to them, "If I am a man of God, let fire come down from heaven and consume you and your fifty." Then the fire of God came down from heaven and consumed him and his fifty. (2Ki 1:9-12)  “When His disciples James and John saw this, they said, ‘Lord, do You want us to command fire to come down from heaven and consume them (even as Elijah did)?’" (Luk 9:54).  "And I will grant authority to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for twelve hundred and sixty days, clothed in sackcloth." These are the two olive trees and the two lampstands that stand before the Lord of the earth. And if anyone wants to harm them, fire flows out of their mouth and devours their enemies; so if anyone wants to harm them, he must be killed in this way.” (Rev 11:3-5). When we have genuine faith and desire a weapon against the enemy (demons), we can call for it aloud and it will be given to us.  Shout “Holy fire!”
  • Holy dancing - And David was dancing before the LORD with all his might, and David was wearing a linen ephod. So David and all the house of Israel were bringing up the ark of the LORD with shouting and the sound of the trumpet. (2Sa 6:14-15). “Let them praise His name with dancing; Let them sing praises to Him with timbrel and lyre.” (Psa 149:3). “Praise Him with timbrel and dancing; Praise Him with stringed instruments and pipe.” (Psa 150:4)
  • Praising the Lord with instruments – When we praise the Lord, it brings down His glory.  “Let them praise His name with dancing; Let them sing praises to Him with timbrel and lyre.” (Psa 149:3). “Praise Him with timbrel and dancing; Praise Him with stringed instruments and pipe.” (Psa 150:4).  “And all the Levitical singers, Asaph, Heman, Jeduthun, and their sons and kinsmen, clothed in fine linen, with cymbals, harps and lyres, standing east of the altar, and with them one hundred and twenty priests blowing trumpets in unison when the trumpeters and the singers were to make themselves heard with one voice to praise and to glorify the LORD, and when they lifted up their voice accompanied by trumpets and cymbals and instruments of music, and when they praised the LORD saying, ‘He indeed is good for His lovingkindness is everlasting,’ then the house, the house of the LORD, was filled with a cloud, so that the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud, for the glory of the LORD filled the house of God.” (2Ch 5:12-14)
  • Praise – Praise is actually visible to those in the spirit, including God, angels, demons, etc. “It was translucent, almost invisible, but I could see it. It seemed to have different properties. Some kinds of praise were like fabric, some like particles.” – Anna Rountree, The Heavens Opened (see here).  Rountree goes on to say that Some praise is like a quiet stream, like a lone violin playing a song of adoration to the Lord.  Some worship is like a tidal wave. I will give You thanks in the great congregation; I will praise You among a mighty throng. (Psa 35:18). O Lord, open my lips, That my mouth may declare Your praise. (Psa 51:15)
  • Thanksgiving - Sing praise to the LORD, you His godly ones, And give thanks to His holy name. (Psa 30:4). always giving thanks for all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God, even the Father; (Eph 5:20).  In The Heavens Opened, by Anna Rountree, she writes: “As we drew nearer to the throne, it was as though I began to see praise.’ It was translucent, almost invisible, but I could see it. It seemed to have different properties. Some kinds of praise were like fabric, some like particles. Thanksgivings looked similar to bird flights of light.” (see here)
  • Singing - He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God; Many will see and fear And will trust in the LORD. (Psa 40:3). Sing praises to God, sing praises; Sing praises to our King, sing praises. (Psa 47:6)
  • Shouting - And David was dancing before the LORD with all his might, and David was wearing a linen ephod. So David and all the house of Israel were bringing up the ark of the LORD with shouting and the sound of the trumpet. (2Sa 6:14-15). Moreover, they made an oath to the LORD with a loud voice, with shouting, with trumpets and with horns. (2Ch 15:14). The sound of joyful shouting and salvation is in the tents of the righteous; The right hand of the LORD does valiantly. (Psa 118:15). Then our mouth was filled with laughter And our tongue with joyful shouting; Then they said among the nations, "The LORD has done great things for them." (Psa 126:2). “So the people shouted, and priests blew the trumpets; and when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, the people shouted with a great shout and the wall fell down flat, so that the people went up into the city, every man straight ahead, and they took the city.” (Jos 6:20)
  • Shedding tears – God collects our tears into bottles that are stored in heaven.  Each saint has their own tear bottle in heaven. "Hear my prayer, O LORD, and give ear to my cry; Do not be silent at my tears; For I am a stranger with You, A sojourner like all my fathers. (Psa 39:12). You have taken account of my wanderings; Put my tears in Your bottle. Are they not in Your book?  (Psa 56:8).
  • Clapping hands and stomping feet –  When we clap our hands, it causes things in the spirit realm of darkness to break up.  The more saints you can get to clap together, the better it is.  It is like an earthquake to the enemy in the second heaven.  O clap your hands, all peoples; Shout to God with the voice of joy. (Psa 47:1). "Thus says the Lord GOD, 'Clap your hand, stamp your foot and say, "Alas, because of all the evil abominations of the house of Israel, which will fall by sword, famine and plague! (Eze 6:11). "You therefore, son of man, prophesy and clap your hands together; and let the sword be doubled the third time, the sword for the slain. It is the sword for the great one slain, which surrounds them, (Eze 21:14). "I will also clap My hands together, and I will appease My wrath; I, the LORD, have spoken." (Eze 21:17)
  • Feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, inviting strangers, etc - "Then the righteous will answer Him, 'Lord, when did we see You hungry, and feed You, or thirsty, and give You something to drink? 'And when did we see You a stranger, and invite You in, or naked, and clothe You? 'When did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?' "The King will answer and say to them, 'Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me.' (Mat 25:37-40)
  • Suffering – We share in a fellowship of Christ’s sufferings when we suffer for Him.  “that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death;” (Phi 3:10). When we suffer on behalf of Christ’s Body, we help to fill up a cup of affliction in heaven, so to speak, that needs to be filled up.  “Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and in my flesh I do my share on behalf of His body, which is the church, in filling up what is lacking in Christ's afflictions.” (Col 1:24)
  • Anointing with oil - Is anyone among you sick? Then he must call for the elders of the church and they are to pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; and the prayer offered in faith will restore the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up, and if he has committed sins, they will be forgiven him. (Jam 5:14-15). And they were casting out many demons and were anointing with oil many sick people and healing them.  (Mar 6:13)
  • Touching a garment or piece of cloth - When the woman touched the hem of Jesus' garment, which was a physical action, the spiritual power of God flowed into her and healed her. "And a woman who had a hemorrhage for twelve years, and could not be healed by anyone, came up behind Him and touched the fringe of His cloak, and immediately her hemorrhage stopped." (Luk 8:43-44; cf., Mk 5:25-29). "And wherever he went--into villages, towns or countryside--they placed the sick in the marketplaces. They begged him to let them touch even the edge of his cloak, and all who touched it were healed." (Mk 6:56, NIV). When people touched pieces of cloth that the apostle Paul had touched, the power of God flowed into their bodies and healed them. "God was performing extraordinary miracles by the hands of Paul, so that handkerchiefs or aprons were even carried from his body to the sick, and the diseases left them and the evil spirits went out." (Act 19:11-12)
  • A person's shadow passing over someone - When the apostle Peter's shadow passed over the sick they were healed. "They even carried the sick out into the streets and laid them on cots and pallets, so that when Peter came by at least his shadow might fall on any one of them...people who were sick or afflicted with unclean spirits, and they were all being healed." (Act 5:15-16)
  • Touching the Lord - People who merely touched Jesus were healed. "And all the people were trying to touch Him, for power was coming from Him and healing them all." (Lk 6:19).
  • Arguing and fighting – It has been revealed in Baptized by Blazing Fire that when saints argue, it causes their homes in heaven to collapse.  Saints should not argue or fight. "What is the source of quarrels and conflicts among you? Is not the source your pleasures that wage war in your members?" (Jam 4:1)

Spiritual Actions Transferred Into Physical Realm
Now let’s examine spiritual actions transferred into the physical realm.  Here are some examples:
  • The Father’s Voice heard in the natural realm - While he was still speaking, a bright cloud overshadowed them, and behold, a voice out of the cloud said, "This is My beloved Son, with whom I am well-pleased; listen to Him!" (Mat 17:5). “And a voice came out of the heavens: "You are My beloved Son, in You I am well-pleased." (Mar 1:11)
  • Chariots of fire appearing - As they were going along and talking, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire and horses of fire which separated the two of them. And Elijah went up by a whirlwind to heaven. (2Ki 2:11) Then Elisha prayed and said, "O LORD, I pray, open his eyes that he may see." And the LORD opened the servant's eyes and he saw; and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha. (2Ki 6:17)
  • Supernatural earthquakes – When there is a shaking in the spirit, it can transfer into the physical realm. Prayer and praise can bring on such shakings. “And when they had prayed, the place where they had gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak the word of God with boldness.” (Act 4:31). “But about midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns of praise to God, and the prisoners were listening to them; and suddenly there came a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison house were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened and everyone's chains were unfastened.” (Act 16:25-26).  “And Jesus cried out again with a loud voice, and yielded up His spirit. “And behold, a severe earthquake had occurred, for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven and came and rolled away the stone and sat upon it.” (Mat 28:2)
  • Demons causing sickness, disease, lumps, and injuries - After the demon was cast out, the mute man spoke; and the crowds were amazed, and were saying, "Nothing like this has ever been seen in Israel." (Mat 9:33). "Lord, have mercy on my son, for he is a lunatic and is very ill; for he often falls into the fire and often into the water. "I brought him to Your disciples, and they could not cure him." And Jesus answered and said, "You unbelieving and perverted generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I put up with you? Bring him here to Me." And Jesus rebuked him, and the demon came out of him, and the boy was cured at once. (Mat 17:15-18)
  • Placing a seal on the heart or forehead - who also sealed us and gave us the Spirit in our hearts as a pledge. (2Co 1:22). And I saw another angel ascending from the rising of the sun, having the seal of the living God; and he cried out with a loud voice to the four angels to whom it was granted to harm the earth and the sea, saying, "Do not harm the earth or the sea or the trees until we have sealed the bond-servants of our God on their foreheads." And I heard the number of those who were sealed, one hundred and forty-four thousand sealed from every tribe of the sons of Israel: (Rev 7:2-4)  The LORD said to him, "Go through the midst of the city, even through the midst of Jerusalem, and put a mark on the foreheads of the men who sigh and groan over all the abominations which are being committed in its midst."  (Eze 9:4)
  • Bread from heaven appearing on earth - "Our fathers ate the manna in the wilderness; as it is written, 'HE GAVE THEM BREAD OUT OF HEAVEN TO EAT.'" Jesus then said to them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, it is not Moses who has given you the bread out of heaven, but it is My Father who gives you the true bread out of heaven. (Joh 6:31-32)
  • Water from a rock - "Behold, I will stand before you there on the rock at Horeb; and you shall strike the rock, and water will come out of it, that the people may drink." And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel. (Exo 17:6)
  • Fire from heaven - Fire also came forth from the LORD and consumed the two hundred and fifty men who were offering the incense. (Num 16:35) The holy fire of God consumed the 250 rebels that came against Moses and Aaron. “Then the LORD rained on Sodom and Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD out of heaven.” (Gen 19:24)
  • Disciples translated through time and space - Then, when they had rowed about three or four miles, they saw Jesus walking on the sea and drawing near to the boat; and they were frightened. But He said to them, "It is I; do not be afraid." So they were willing to receive Him into the boat, and immediately the boat was at the land to which they were going. (Joh 6:19-21). When they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord snatched Philip away; and the eunuch no longer saw him, but went on his way rejoicing. But Philip found himself at Azotus, and as he passed through he kept preaching the gospel to all the cities until he came to Caesarea. (Act 8:39-40)
  • Camera flashes – In Baptized by Blazing Fire, angels appeared in the Lord’s Church and took photographs of the pastor and church members.  When they did, the church members actually saw the camera flash in the natural. My wife and daughter have both seen what seem to be supernatural flashes of light as well.
  • Angels appearing - And an angel of the Lord appeared to him, standing to the right of the altar of incense. (Luk 1:11).  Although angels are spirits, they can appear in the physical realm and even drive cars that appear and disappear.  Angels have even appeared on video recordings and on photographs (see here). My oldest daughter has seen angels more than once in our home.
  • Angels have been recorded on tape singing (see here).
  • Jesus appearing - For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, and that He appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve. After that He appeared to more than five hundred brethren at one time, most of whom remain until now, but some have fallen asleep; then He appeared to James, then to all the apostles; and last of all, as to one untimely born, He appeared to me also. (1Co 15:3-8). My oldest daughter has seen the Lord appear to her when she was little.
  • Angels touching people, ministering to them, opening prison doors, unlocking chains, lifting objects, moving heavy things like cars, trucks, planes, etc.  Their movements in the spiritual realm transfer to the physical realm.  So Peter was kept in the prison, but prayer for him was being made fervently by the church to God. On the very night when Herod was about to bring him forward, Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains, and guards in front of the door were watching over the prison. And behold, an angel of the Lord suddenly appeared and a light shone in the cell; and he struck Peter's side and woke him up, saying, "Get up quickly." And his chains fell off his hands. And the angel said to him, "Gird yourself and put on your sandals." And he did so. And he said to him, "Wrap your cloak around you and follow me." And he went out and continued to follow, and he did not know that what was being done by the angel was real, but thought he was seeing a vision. When they had passed the first and second guard, they came to the iron gate that leads into the city, which opened for them by itself; and they went out and went along one street, and immediately the angel departed from him. (Act 12:5-10)
  • New, human body parts given to people – Many people have received new body parts, such as new heart, new eye, etc.  There is an actual warehouse of human body parts in heaven for this purpose.  According to Anna Rountree in The Heavens Opened, “There is a warehouse in heaven with a sign on it that reads: BODY PARTS. The warehouse was large, as large as a huge auditorium much the same as the municipal auditoriums in major cities. It was as white as a 'clean room' at a research facility. It seemed unusually bright in the building, as though the contents were either preserved or incubated in light. This building holds an inventory of available parts of the human body.  There were bins upon bins of parts of all colors and sizes.  This is the parts department. The angels who work there are ready.  The Lord has made ample provision.”
  • Diamonds and other gems – Many people have received diamonds and other gems from heaven. We have experienced this first-hand ourselves (see here). God is doing extraordinary miracles.
  • Gold dust and gold teeth – Some people have seen gold dust appear on their hands and some have received gold fillings in their teeth.
  • Oil - supernatural oil has been appearing on people's hands.
  • Jesus gives us food from heaven - "Do not work for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give to you, for on Him the Father, God, has set His seal." (Joh 6:27).But He said to them, "I have food to eat that you do not know about." So the disciples were saying to one another, "No one brought Him anything to eat, did he?" Jesus *said to them, "My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me and to accomplish His work. (Joh 4:32-34)
  • Living water - Jesus answered and said to her, "If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, 'Give Me a drink,' you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water." (Joh 4:10) "He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, 'From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water.'" (Joh 7:38)
  • Holy Spirit causing the virgin to conceive of baby Jesus - "And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall name Him Jesus. (Luk 1:31). Mary said to the angel, "How can this be, since I am a virgin?" The angel answered and said to her, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; and for that reason the holy Child shall be called the Son of God. (Luk 1:34-35)
  • Drawing wages from heaven to earth - I believe that when you are serving the Lord, the Father will honor you by enabling you to draw wages from heaven. "Already he who reaps is receiving wages and is gathering fruit for life eternal; so that he who sows and he who reaps may rejoice together. (Joh 4:36). "And all things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive."  (Mat 21:22)
  • Rain - In Baptized by Blazing Fire, the Father wanted the His people to know that when the saints die and it rains outside, the rain means His tears for the one who died.
  • Glory of God can be visible as a cloud, keeps people from standing – “And all the Levitical singers, Asaph, Heman, Jeduthun, and their sons and kinsmen, clothed in fine linen, with cymbals, harps and lyres, standing east of the altar, and with them one hundred and twenty priests blowing trumpets in unison when the trumpeters and the singers were to make themselves heard with one voice to praise and to glorify the LORD, and when they lifted up their voice accompanied by trumpets and cymbals and instruments of music, and when they praised the LORD saying, ‘He indeed is good for His lovingkindness is everlasting,’ then the house, the house of the LORD, was filled with a cloud, so that the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud, for the glory of the LORD filled the house of God.” (2Ch 5:12-14)
  • Caves, stairs, and other means of hiding or escaping trouble - In The Heavens Opened, Rountree writes that the angel told her “The real, living church of Jesus Christ can hide in caves, float on the water, or climb into Paradise.” A member of the real church will know where the hidden stairs are located. That person can call for help, and we will let down the stairs so that he can escape (see here). Corrie Ten Boom, in her book called Hiding Place (see here), testified that through prayer they became invisible to their captors. Others have testified to the same.  Jesus did this while on earth. "While you have the Light, believe in the Light, so that you may become sons of Light." These things Jesus spoke, and He went away and hid Himself from them. (Joh 12:36). “And all the people in the synagogue were filled with rage as they heard these things; and they got up and drove Him out of the city, and led Him to the brow of the hill on which their city had been built, in order to throw Him down the cliff. But passing through their midst, He went His way.” (Luk 4:28-30). "You will seek Me, and will not find Me; and where I am, you cannot come." (Joh 7:34)
Weapons in the spiritual realm available to saints
There are also weapons in heaven available for the saints who ask for them.  According to brother Yong-Doo Kim in Baptized by Blazing Fire, there are many high-tech weapons of all kinds, and even missiles, submarines, helicopters, etc.

Weapons and other things the enemy has stolen
In Baptized by Blazing Fire, it has been revealed that in hell, satan has massive stockpiles of various instruments of torture.  Some of these are traditional farming equipment, such as pitch forks, plowshares, etc.  Other items include chainsaws and knives.  There are even high tech weapons there to torture people with.

In her book The Priestly Bride, Rountree says that Satan has a display room where he displays trophies he has stolen from God. This is a trophy room. Display tables flank either side of the room.  These are covered with what seem to be black velvet.  The objects on display are shining with light from within.  The objects are beautiful, not because of exquisite workmanship nor because they are encrusted with jewels.  Instead, they seem to have some beauty bestowed upon them by God.  They are His, for His people once used them.  Now they sit on display like war mementos.  Each article is labeled. On display are the just measure, Miriam’s tambourine, Bezalel’s renderings for the workers (of the patterns given to Moses on the mount), the widow’s bowl, various musical instruments of ancient design, and on and on. Each one had been used by God in some extraordinary way and then stolen from Him.  We can only suppose that these had been taken into the enemy camp because of the sins of God’s people.

In her book, The Heavens Opened, Rountree writes:
The Lord spoke, “The enemy has hidden stolen treasure within the darkness of these rooms. Prying eyes guard this treasure. These spies are rewarded for their vigilance. The infested caves are a vortex, throbbing with suspicion. Here there is fear of exposure—the opposite of covering—because of love. The time has not yet come, Anna, to release these captives from the caves [meaning the stolen treasure], but all that is of Me and is Mine will be cleansed and come to Me.”

I did not understand what He meant. He continued, “Just as tears and prayers can be stored above, so can praise be taken captive by the evil one and stored in caves of horn. The enemy bathes in stolen worship—renewing himself in that which belongs to God, putting his hands all over that which is sacred and secret. Since Satan cannot create but only imitate and defile that which belongs to God, his greatest joy is to desecrate that which is of the Light. My Father will one day have all that belongs to Him. The temple vessels were captured and hidden away in Babylon, desecrated by being mocked and used to toast false gods. Just as these were returned and reconsecrated to God, so all that belongs to My Father will be cleansed and consecrated to Him alone.’ The enemy is in dense darkness, doing that which is foul in order to relieve his pain, but instead only multiplies his pain. But My Father will set free all that belongs to Him. He will cleanse it from the filth of deception and idolatry corrupting it so that it might rise to Him.”

Putting it All Together
It makes no difference whether something is in the spiritual realm or in the physical realm.  It doesn't matter whether you can see it or not.  You don't need to see it, in order for it to exist.  And you don't need to see it in order to receive it, use it, wield it, give it, or wrestle with it.  We don't dispute the principle in science that you don't have to see a magnetic field for it to exist. You don't have to see electricity for it to exist.  The same is true in the spirit, so why should we think it strange?  Things are constantly being transferred from the spiritual realm to the physical realm, and from the physical realm into the spiritual realm.

Some examples of physical actions that transfer into the spiritual realm are Christ’s passion and crucifixion, the blood of Jesus, water baptism, the Lord’s Supper, preaching the gospel, laying on of hands, confessing Jesus as Lord, giving money (tithes and offerings), making prophetic models and spiritual maps, striking the water with a mantle, throwing a stick in the water to make iron float, blowing air, blowing a trumpet, blowing a ram’s horn, mouth to mouth and eye-to-eye resuscitation, wielding the sword of the Spirit, putting clay on blind eyes to form new ones, throwing fire, commanding fire to come down from heaven, holy dancing, praising the Lord with instruments, praising the Lord with our mouths, thanksgiving, singing, shouting, shedding tears, clapping hands and stomping feet, feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, inviting strangers, suffering for Christ and His Church, anointing with oil, touching a garment or piece of cloth, and using hand-to-hand combat against demons.

Some examples of spiritual actions that transfer into the physical realm are the Father’s Voice heard in the natural realm, chariots of fire appearing, demons causing sickness, disease, lumps, and injuries; placing a seal on the heart or forehead, bread from heaven appearing on earth, water from a rock, fire from heaven, disciples translated through time and space, camera flashes, Jesus appearing, angels appearing, angels have been recorded on tape singing, angels touching people, ministering to them, opening prison doors, unlocking chains, lifting objects, moving heavy things like cars, trucks, planes, etc.; new, human body parts given to people, diamonds and other gems, gold dust and gold teeth, Jesus gives us food from heaven, living water, Holy Spirit causing the virgin to conceive of baby Jesus, drawing wages from heaven to earth, rain, and the glory of God can be visible as a cloud that keeps people from standing.  There are also many various spiritual weapons in heaven available for the disciple, which can be appropriated through prayer.

This world has nothing to offer compared to what is available in the kingdom of heaven for the people of God.  And if you are a disciple of Christ, you can appropriate everything you need from God's kingdom into your life. “His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence.” (2Pe 1:3). Likewise, you need to realize that your actions, including your words and physical movements, have a direct impact on the spiritual realm.  This should motivate you in your prayers, your praise, your spiritual warfare, your worship, your sharing, your giving of tithes and offerings, and your entire walk with God.
